Project Engineer - Epsom, UK
I am originally from China but now live and work in the UK.
Having finished my PhD in Impact Structure I joined DEEPSEA Engineering as a Project Engineer. I particularly enjoy the scope there is at DEEPSEA to work on varied and challenging projects.
The first project I delivered at DEEPSEA was a tough and exciting project, where an advanced ABAQUS knowledge was required to model the anode welds that were ground off for the flowline repair. Within a year,I had been involved in a number of projects and had successfully developed a 3D and 2D umbilical automation modeling technology.
As well as larger projects, DEEPSEA allows me the opportunity to work independently and complete some small scale projects, including hot tap lateral buckling and slug force analysis. Recently I have been working on the in-house (Engineering Critical Assessment) ECA toolkit development for a tie-back riser system design.
I enjoy my work at DEEPSEA and continue to find the work exciting. The team that I work with makes the role even more enjoyable and being a member of Athletico DEEPSEA Football Club is a fantastic way to unwind with colleagues outside of office hours.
