DeepSea is a rapidly expanding engineering consultancy specialising in complex deepwater projects in the offshore oil and gas industry. Our headquarters are in the UK (Epsom) and we also have offices in the USA and the Far East. We are now seeking to recruit an exceptional individual to head up the Dynamic Systems team in our UK office.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and dynamic engineer with responsibility for:
- Technical management of multi-disciplinary teams involved in riser systems design either as part of the overall field development or as an independent system with interfaces to other areas of the development
- Independently handling Riser System Design at various stages of the project lifecycle – Conceptual Design, Front End Engineering Design, Detailed Design and Construction Installation Interface
- Performing checking/reviewing activities and ensuring technical accuracy and quality of discipline deliverables such as drawings, MTOs and specifications
- Planning, organisation and delegation of work to engineering and drafting staff working on the allotted project
- Ensuring adherence to company procedures, client specifications and guidelines
- Ensuring the timely issuance of all engineering deliverables for each scope whilst working within the estimated budget and ensuring high efficiency for the allotted projects
- Good communication (oral) skills including experience with presentations to large audiences, technical client interfacing and leading group meetings
- Demonstrated written skills for technical report writing and email
Related design and analysis experience with the following systems is a requirement for this position:
- SCRs
- Riser Towers
- Top tensioned risers
- Dynamic Umbilicals
- Flexible Risers
- Installation engineering
A typical profile for this position is an engineer with 7 or more years experience in a technical role that includes some management responsibilities.
