We are currently seeking an experienced Subsea Tree Engineer for a position based in Houston, Texas. The identified candidate will have previous subsea experience with a manufacturing firm responsible for design, mfg., and development of subsea trees and related equipment. We are interested in experienced subsea engineers with approximately 5+ years of experience. The ideal candidate should have experience within the following required areas:

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Specification of, construction, integration, testing, and installation of subsea trees
  • Capable of providing direction in the development of specifications for production, water injection, and gas injection subsea trees. This includes accommodation for chemical injection requirements, downhole instrumentation for the SCSSV, downhole data acquisition requirements, and production/injection choke requirements
  • Performing preliminary/design calculations per API 6A/API 17D. Capable of supporting analysis group by providing loads and materials selection (general knowledge). Familiarity and experience with API 17-H, and 17-F are also
  • Knowledge and experience with Interfaces related to subsea manifold, jumper connections, control/umbilical systems, rig deployment system, subsea test tree, tubing hanger, and other downhole completion hardware, i.e. SCSSV
  • Reviewing FEA results Assisting/supporting designers with design development.
  • Checking and approval of machine/forging/cladding drawings.
  • Performing tolerance analysis of interfacing equipment and confirmation of design standards.
  • Writing FDS specifications and FAT procedures for (tree) components.
  • Writing installation and retrieval procedures SCA components .
  • Writing operating procedures for  SCA components.
  • Writing Storage and Maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience in the following would be a plus... SolidWorks ASME B31.8 (for sizing flow loops) and Autocad or Inventor ,Design of Weldments (general knowledge of how to size padeyes, select beam sizes, and sizing welds).
  • Participates in HES work team and contractors to achieve an incident and injury free culture. Ensure project HES goals are achieved. Provides technical support for permitting/regulatory activities.

 

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical, Petroleum, or Civil Engineering
  • 5+ years of related subsea experience in design, manufacture and installation of subsea equipment.
  • Experience with Offshore Production Operations is required.
  • Familiarity with Technology Company and inner workings is required.
  • Deep water subsea facilities or operations experience is a plus.
