Subsea equipment manufacturer is currently seeking a Subsea/ Umbilical Engineer to provide technical support on Umbilical Systems to a portfolio of Deepwater Projects. The Umbilical Engineer will provide technical input on Umbilical systems to the design and delivery of Subsea systems from early definition of the project to operation of the asset. Work proactively within project teams to meet the project targets.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work proactively within project teams to meet the project targets.
  • Stay abreast of new technology in the area of Umbilical systems and identify opportunities for advancement and deployment of key technology in projects.
  • Implement global standards for Umbilical systems.
  • Carry out design/technical studies of Umbilical systems for various phases of the project.
  • Liaise with Company corporate technical specialists to gather comments to design documentation, resolve technical queries and implement Company’s referential.
  • Lead the technical clarifications for all umbilical related matter during the tender phase and update the risers design documentation for the contract award.
  • Identify any needs for third party reviews or expertise.
  • After contract award review, comment the detailed engineering deliverables, cross sections, in place and dynamic studies.
  • Assist in overseeing all aspects of the umbilical systems construction including all associated subcomponents and installation tools.
  • Follow interface matters technically in cooperation with the Interfaces Engineer; to participate in interface meetings.
  • Participate in various technical reviews such as Hazid, Hazop, PTR.
  • Participate in the definition and attend FATs, Qualification tests and Site Integration Tests.
  • Participate in studies of installation procedures.


Technical Requirements:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
  • A demonstrable commitment to HSE and Quality.
  • Good working knowledge of operational requirements and philosophies.
  • Well developed relationship skills as you will have to work in a multi-cultural diverse environment.
  • E&P engineering or Operations experience.
  • 7+ years in Subsea Engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Highly developed team player qualities with experience in project development.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with customers and other team members
