We are looking for a Subsea Systems Engineer for our client based in Houston, Texas. The Subsea Systems Engineer will provide a critical role in the development of the overall systems and scope of work on major oil and gas projects.
Essential Functions:
A Subsea Systems Engineer within a multi-disciplinary department. You will be responsible and challenged in the development of Front End Engineering studies, your support will be critical to large subsea system projects and your involvement and support of technology development at a system coordination level shall be a primary responsibility in your position. You will also support execution of subsea projects by providing technical expertise, project management skills, leadership, and customer focused interpersonal skills to multiple deepwater subsea projects. Your responsibilities may include cost, schedule and HS&E performance and support of technology developments as well as any R&D initiatives that enhance the group performance and company targets.
Primary Duties include:
- Support to system design in large subsea project proposals and equipment contract
- Define procurement specifications for large subsea system building blocks such as Trees, Controls, Wellhead connections, HIPPS, Manifolds, Valves, PLET/PLEMs
- Technical System management during the execution phase of projects
- System Integration Testing definition, planning and execution.
- Interface definition and management amongst different work packages, Company locations and towards the client
- Act as highest technical authority responsible for system layout and definition from concept definition phase to FEED, detail engineering and execution phases of a subsea project
- Subsea Structures design and procurement with support from sister companies
- Development of subsea system field concepts and optimization in relation to Company strategy
- Provide assistance to R&D initiatives on field optimization and design reviews
- Work in multiple assignments and be flexible to travel internationally for short assignments

- Bachelor's Degree with 5 - 12 years experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Broad knowledge of processes, methods and procedures within project and engineering management
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or customers.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts (high skills) such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Experience in the design and/or selection of one or more of the following subsea equipment: Large bore valves; Subsea structures: Manifolds, Templates, PLET/ PLEM; Subsea Distribution and Connection Systems; Subsea Control Systems; Subsea Trees: vertical and conventional; Well intervention systems; ROV Intervention Systems; and HIPPS.
